Does Counself require an ‘on-premises’ implementation?No, Counself is a multitenant-cloud-based solution that you can begin to use it immediately after completing registration. Counself is optimized for browsers across devices, from desktop to mobile, so you can always access it from anywhere.

What do we mean by RFx?RFI (Request For Information): Collect and Analyze - RFIs are exploratory, open-ended, and fact-finding. Send a due diligence RFI to collect policies and data to verify and approve vendors or explore the marketplace with an open RFI when you are new to an industry or not sure what solution you’re looking for. RFP (Request For Proposal): Compare and Select - RFPs are controlled, competitive, and evaluative. Send an RFP to potential Outside Counsel firms in a new jurisdiction, compare their AFA proposals across KPIs, Value-Adds, and other purchasing and relationship criteria, and select the winner to handle your matters. RFQ (Request For Quote): Cost and Negotiate - RFQs are structured, focused, and realizable. Send an RFQ to an established panel firm for a new matter, removing distractions and allowing your vendor to focus on price and value for the project.

How do I know if have been invited to respond to an RFx?You will receive an email invitation, which will have a unique secure link to register, or login, and view detailed information about the request you were invited to. If you do not see any notifications in your inbox, check your junk/spam!

Is Counself free?Vendors who receive an invitation email from a company to respond to their RFx can use Counself free of charge and benefit from its basic features. Counself also offers a Professional version for vendors that makes responding to client requests even easier for those who are tired of filling out the same forms. Contact us for details. How can Vendors join Counself?If you wish to create a profile for your organization and list it in Counself’s Marketplace, just click the red “REGISTER” button in the top-right of the screen on the sign-in page. Once you fill out the form and submit, you will receive a verification email with further directions on how to complete registration (which includes our vetting process).

Can I share a request with a colleague?Yes, RFx respondents can share requests with anyone in their law firm or organization. All you need to do is to open the request, click on the “Share” button, and invite them! They’ll receive an invitation email with instructions to join Counself and help you draft your response. You can even invite colleagues to help with individual questions and assign limited access!

What do I need to send a request?As a client user, you can create and send an RFx to any individuals within any firm or company. All you need is the body of the request, any documents or forms you want to include, and the respondents’ email addresses.

Can we use Counself for any type of RFx?Yes, Counself has been designed to address the nuances of legal vendor management, but it is flexible and powerful enough to be used for other professional services! You can create your RFx templates with custom questionnaires designed and optimized for your organizations’ processes. Send requests internally to different business units, externally to several vendors at once, and use Counself to centralize how you collect responses, analyze, and make decisions.

Our firm is located outside of the US. Can we use Counself to send them RFx?Yes. Counself is a multitenant-cloud-based solution and is optimized for browsers across devices, from desktop to mobile, so you can always access it from anywhere. Counself is also ISO 27001 and EU-US Privacy Shield certified as well as compliant with GDPR requirements.

Can request respondents see who else has been invited?Request invitations are private invitations – respondents from different organizations will not be able to see who else has been invited or is participating. However, requests can be configured so that respondents from the same organization can receive, collaborate on, and participate in the same response to a request.

Can Counself integrate with our matter/document management systems?Yes. Counself has comprehensive APIs which can integrate with your matter and document management solutions to make the RFx process as efficient and convenient as possible, eliminating double data entries while providing a rich set of reports. Where do you store my data?We host your data in Microsoft Azure, a highly secure cloud infrastructure. The Microsoft Datacenters hosting Counself and your data are compliant with international security standards including GDPR, ISO 27001, HIPAA, FedRAMP, SOC 1, and SOC 2.

How do you keep my data secure?Counself utilizes the latest recommended secure cipher suites and protocols to encrypt all traffic and data at rest. If you wish to know about our encryption system and other security measures in more detail please contact us.

What does it mean that Counself is ISO 27001 Certified?Counself is under the scope of ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification, achieved by InfiniGlobe, and is compliant with all the certification requirements defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). InfiniGlobe has been independently audited and certified by Schellman & Company, an ANAB and UKAS Accredited Certification Body.

Who owns the data I upload to Counself?All data created or uploaded by you to Counself remains your property and cannot be accessed by any other user unless you choose to share it with other Counself members. Counself employees, contractors, and third parties do not have access to your data.

I have not yet received an email from Counself!If you are expecting an invitation email from Counself but have not yet received it, the email may be in your Spam/Junk folder. Use the normal inbox Search feature. Type ‘Counself’ into the search bar. Open the Spam/Junk folder and scroll through the messages looking for a message from ‘support@counself.net’. Once you find it, move the email message to your Inbox. If you do not find a Counself message in your Spam/Junk folder, and you think you should have received an email, please contact us.
